About Us

We operate boat, kayaking, and paddle board tours Underground in the Red River Gorge. At this century-old, flooded limestone mine, participants can experience:

• 100 years of mining history
• Animal life including rainbow trout, salamanders, and bats
• Millions of years of geologic history, various rocks
• An underground spring/waterfall from the ceiling

Responsibilities:

• Checking guests in using booking and scheduling software (FareHarbor)
• Verifying receipt of waivers
• Running Point-of-Sale software while selling merchandise to guests (Square/Clover)
• Willingness to experience the tour and share knowledge with guests
• Prioritizing guest queue to assist in a timely and efficient manner
  
• Engages guests from the moment they enter the store
• Able to count a drawer in and ensure accurate change given each sale
• Good with numbers and attention to details in restocking throughout the day

Requirements: 

• 16+ years old
• High School diploma/or equivalent
• Able to pass a background check
• Enthusiastic, fast learner 
• Pleasant and outgoing: engaging guests from check-in to check-out
• Steady and consistent: sales, numbers, and merchandise are all handled with care and accuracy
• Excellence under pressure: assists guests with compassion while enforcing company safety and procedural policies
• Ability to stay active and moving for most of the day

• Ensure guests have appropriate equipment 

• Lead 4+ tours daily with consistent enthusiasm and energy 

• Assist guests on a variety of topics, including concerns, comfort, and equipment issues 

• Prepare tour materials

• Stay current on company developments and relevant area news to bolster guest's tour experience  

• Follow all established safety guidelines and ensure that guests remain within designated areas 

• Record and report any unusual incidents or violations of safety guidelines

• Maintain and sanitize equipment after every use

• Stay on schedule/time during tours and adjust as necessary

Requirements

• MUST be 21+ yrs. of age and able to work on weekends and maintain a flexible schedule (nights, holidays)

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Able to pass a background check

• Certified CPR/First Aid training (if not, we can provide)

• Strong public speaking and presentation skills

• Superb written and verbal communication skills

• A dynamic, can-do personality

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and drying kayaks

• Disinfecting personal safety gear, paddles, and dock equipment
• Assisting in regular maintenance and draining of kayaks
• Awareness on the job, ready to assist in executing an Emergency Action Plan
• Cleaning duties including but not limited to: removing trash, sweeping, mopping, disinfecting work stations
• Assisting guests into and out of kayaks and boats with an eye toward risk mitigation/falls
• Willingness to paddle as an assistant on tours as needed
• Following daily/weekly/mothly task lists

Requirements:

• MUST be 15+ yrs. of age and able to work on weekends and maintain a flexible schedule (nights, holidays)

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Able to pass a background check

• Certified CPR/First Aid training (if not, we can provide)

• Punctual and consistent at work
